Water Saving Apps for Android and iPhone

Available for Free Download

H2O Monitor App

for iPhones/iPads– by Abha Nath

A shower timer that allows you to save water, by monitoring shower times, stores your shower times and calculates water usage. The Aqua Monitor and H2O Monitor Apps were created by Abha Nath while a student from Mira Costa High School and very involved in water issues.

 WeTap App

This App is available for Apple devices and supports drinking water fountains in the city and all over the world. The WeTap app draws on the world’s largest database of drinking water sources, enabling you to find the nearest drinking fountains, map new ones, and to report broken fountains so they can be fixed. The average American now drinks nearly thirty gallons of commercial bottled water per year, up from just gallon in 1980, creating plastic waste, wasting energy and costing a tremendous amount of money. The goal includes helping people get a drink, and to encourage public agencies to place new fountains in high demand areas such as downtown areas. For more information, visit www.wetap.org.
